GOOD NEWS ABOUT OUR NOVEMBER MEETING CLE:

We have secured a storied speaker for our next Committee meeting (the November meeting at Boca Raton- probably on November 12th). Joel Hall of Santa Rosa, California represented GAP in negotiating hundreds of their leases all over the world. He also drafted GAP’s standard lease and designed its leasing policies. Joel may be best known for representing Apple in leasing some its most famous locations, including the landmark store at GM Plaza at 58th St. & Fifth Avenue in New York City. Joel will join us to lead a discussion on either SNDAs or co-tenancy issues- he’d like us to decide which topic is of greater interest.

Please identify your preference. I’ll tally the results and let Joel know.

Thank you, Rick

Subject: FW: New Commercial Leasing List Serv

Our new Commercial Leasing List Serv is up and running!

This List Serv will focus on commercial rather than residential lease issues.

Please excuse my use of this List Serv for other than a discussion of a commercial lease issue, but I would greatly appreciate help in identifying CLE topics for our quarterly committee meetings as well as for stand-alone presentations.

Some of the topics that might be of interest to committee members include:

·         Letters of Intent;

·         SNDAs;

·         Insurance and Indemnification;

·         Lease defaults and remedies;

·         Co-Tenancy issues;

·         Assignment and subletting.

Please let me know of other topics of interest.

Thank you, Rick
