There needs to be a UPL campaign against a lot of people in the landlord/tenant area of law.  I see it all the time and as Harry said, so many judges don't even enforce the requirement that a corporation hire legal counsel.  I know it's county court, but it is still a court of law and becomes such a circus when non-lawyers try to do legal work.

Subject: [RPPTL LandTen] Pro Se E- Filing of Evictions and Small Claims

Pro Se E-filing of evictions is now allowed.

Expect the out of state “eviction processors” that already are in many other states to begin to advertise all over the state without having to follow any Bar rules and scoop up a massive amount of eviction work from attorneys. Some of my clients have already bought into their wild claims of “faster and cheaper evictions”. I already saw one of these companies at a trade show in Jacksonville making wild claims.

Judges will not know who is actually filing so now we will not just be competing with the pro se crooks  who put the ‘NEED A TENANT EVICTED” sign outside Home Depot.

The small law firm will soon be a thing of the past.

Judges will simply sign the final judgments not knowing who or what out of state computer prepared the paperwork.

The judges who are not following the rule that corporations must have attorneys  and for a property manager to file they must be an “actual property manager” will erode our profession.

I am glad I am not an attorney just starting out.
