Subject: Information About Upcoming RPPTL CLE Programs
The RPPTL CLE Seminar Coordination Committee wants to let you know about upcoming CLE programs of interest to RPPTL members:
1. On Tuesday, October 30th from 12:00-1:00 EDT, a live e-CLE program entitled "E-Ethics for E-Discovery: Considerations and Solutions for the E-Practitioner" will be presented. This will be an audio webcast that will involve a PowerPoint presentation coupled with audio - attached is a brochure about the program - you can attend while at your desk (bring your lunch!). Discovery of electronically stored information (ESI) implicates a number of ethical issues for the practitioner. E-discovery raises E-ethical considerations going beyond those faced in the physical document world. In this electronic presentation the presenters will examine the seeming tension among the obligations to protect metadata and not to "mine" for metadata in relation to the E-discovery obligation not to delete metadata. The presenters will also discuss additional ethical and professional duties of the practitioner in the E-discovery context. This course has been approved for 1.00 hours of ethics credit. The cost is $75 for RPPTL members and $100 for non-RPPTL members. More information about the program, as well as a link to register online, can be found at http://www.floridabar.org/FBWEB/CLEReg.nsf/zLocations2/YDSN-8YJQNQ?OpenDocument.
2. On Friday, November 30th from 8:15-4:20 EST, "It's Not Too Late - Year-End Estate and Asset Protection Planning Techniques - Views from Washington DC ... And More" will be presented, both live in Tampa and via webcast. Attached is a brochure about the program - again, you can attend while at your desk (bring your lunch!). This program will provide the latest information from Washington and where we are now, including hot topics such as trends in asset protection planning, status of the estate tax, domestic and offshore asset protection trusts, portability, homestead, income tax issues, and defense of marriage act judicial challenges. This course has been approved for 5.50 hours of CLE credit. The cost is $225 for RPPTL members and $275 for non-RPPTL members. More information about the program, as well as a link to register online, can be found at http://www.floridabar.org/FBWEB/CLEReg.nsf/zLocations2/YDSN-8XPSLW?OpenDocument.
