[RPPTL LandTen] Upcoming Landlord/Tenant Committee Meetings and Update

Dear Committee Members:

As we enter 2011, I want to give you a look ahead at our Committee schedule.  The Landlord/Tenant Committee holds meetings in conjunction with the Executive Council of the Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section (RPPTL).  Our meetings are in person and by phone (except when the Executive Council meets out of state in March and September, in which case our meetings will be by phone only).

The anticipated meeting schedule is as follows (call-in information and agenda will be sent in advance):

        March 10, 3:30 p.m.  (via phone only)
        May 26 or 27, Eden Roc Miami Beach
        August 4 or 5, The Breakers, Palm Beach
        September, date to be determined (via phone only)
        December 1 or 2, Marco Island Marriott

If you practice in the locale in which a meeting will be held, please feel free to join us in person.

In addition to our regular business, we try to have CLE presentations with our meetings.  The anticipated CLE seminars are:

        March:   Ira Meislik to discuss retail exclusive use clauses. Mr. Meislik is a guest to our Committee and a frequent lecturer for ICSC and active in the ABA and American College of Real Estate Lawyers.
        May:  Committee member Anthony Horkey to discuss residential lease and evictions topics from a landlord's point of view
        August:  Committee member C. Martin (Marty) Lawyer, III to discuss residential lease and evictions topics from a tenant's point of view
        September and December:  TBD

Please continue to avail yourselves of the knowledge of your fellow Committee members by using the ListServe email service.  This is an excellent resource to discuss issues relating to your practice, whether commercial, residential, transactional, or litigation related.
