Greetings to all. We will soon begin the 2009-2010 year for the
Landlord/Tenant Committee of the Florida Bar's Real Property, Probate
and Trust Law Section.

The Committee will meet in conjunction with the upcoming RPPTL's
Executive Council meeting to be held at The Breakers in Palm Beach on
July 30th, 10 a.m. to Noon. Exact location (for anyone attending in
person) and conference call phone information will be provided in
advance of the meeting.

We are scheduled to have a telephonic presentation from attorney Frank
Mayer of Pepper Hamilton in Philadelphia on the topic of insurance
certificates.

I am pleased to announce that Scott Frank and Jo Claire Spear will be
our Committee Co-Vice Chairs this year as I move into the Chair
position. It is with sincere appreciation that I thank the outgoing
Chair, Art Menor, for all of his hard work and mentoring. Art has
served this Committee over many years with quality leadership and great
diligence (I know Art will continue to be a valuable contributing member
of the Committee). Art takes on a new role as Co-Vice Chair of the
RPPTL Section's Real Estate Certification Review Course Committee.

Thanks also goes out to those of you who participated in our meetings
and subcommittee work during the past year. Your efforts have been
recognized by our Section.

In the past year we have:

-- Reviewed numerous bills and legislative proposals, including
various proposals dealing with the protection of tenants in the event of
foreclosure, and our subcommittee has provided guidance to the Real
Property Section in a thoughtful and prompt manner. Special thanks to
Scott Frank and his legislative subcommittee for their hard work.

-- Had informative presentations from Marsha Rydberg (on bankruptcy
issues), Scott Dibbs (on estoppels and SNDAs), and Tim Martin (Director
of Development for Bonefish Grill restaurants).

-- Prepared and submitted revisions to Florida Supreme Court
approved residential lease forms and pro se Landlord/Tenant Litigation
forms.

-- Engaged in informative discussions about topics and cases of
interest to landlord/tenant law practitioners.

I look forward to your continuing participation and working with you on
our Committee during the upcoming year.

Best Regards,

Neil Shoter
2009-2010 Chair
