[Iesaf_selkirk] A note from the IESAF Chair

HI Everyone, just a short note to let you know what is going on...

SAF National Convention 2012.  the Inland Empire is hosting the 2012 
National SAF convention, next week Carlton Gleed from WO SAF will be in 
town, and a few of us are going to meet with him. I will keep you posted 
as things progress.

Our annual meeting this year in Wallace was a great success, we had over 
200 attendees and I received many "this is the best meeting comments".  An 
article discussing our meeting appeared in the Spokesman, Lewiston 
Tribune, and the Idaho Statesman - so we are getting good press.

Also Steve Wilient, Editor for the Forestry Source was at the meeting and 
he is writing an article concerning the 1910 fires, where we will be 
hi-lighted.  His comment "That was one of the very best SAF meetings I've 
attended -- maybe THE best -- in my nearly 30 years as a member. The event 
went smoothly and every presentation was top notch. Congratulations on a 
successful show and a sincere thank you. All that effort and stress really 
paid off!"

Also, the Rocky Mountain Research Station in their Newsletter highlighted 
the RMRS staff that participated in the meeting. (I have attached the 
link).

It is the busy time of the year for Natural Resource Professionals; so be 
careful, have fun and enjoy everyday to the fullest, since we probably 
have the best job in the world.
