                              This session will help non-engineering forest managers how cable logging systems work and the elements of a successful layout for a cable harvest system.  Attendees will learn how the different cable logging systems work, critical unit layout factors, operational considerations for roads, landings and anchors, and important safety concerns.  This workshop is designed for forest managers who need to supervise cable logging contractors or do pre-sale unit designs.                               Advanced Insect and Disease Field Session - Identification, Life Cycles, Control Measures and Silvicultural Regimes
                               
                                

                              July 13-16, 2009, Klamath Falls
                               

                              This field session offers the most in-depth and advanced insect and disease training available in the Pacific Northwest.  Taught by USDA Forest Service pathologists and entomologists, this session will provide ample field time for a first-hand look at field identification, biology and response to stand conditions for a variety of diseases and insects.
                               
                              Idaho, Washington and Oregon pesticide recertification credits are available with this session.
