23 Council meeting, there are a few items that <SPAN

<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">1) As some
of you probably know<SPAN class=415515006-02032007>, </SPAN> there have
been discussions at the Council level regarding membership. Several
changes have been proposed by <SPAN
class=415515006-02032007>the </SPAN>national office staff and <SPAN
class=415515006-02032007>are </SPAN>presented for<SPAN
class=415515006-02032007> your </SPAN>review. I have attached a
power point presentation that was put together by Charlene Schilwachter, which
summarizes the proposed changes.</SPAN><o:p></o:p></P>
<P class=MsoNormal><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3><SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt"> <o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal><FONT face=Arial size=2><SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">2) The forest policy committee has
updated the SAF position statement for harvesting on public lands. This
too is attached. Please remember that this has not been approved by Council yet
and is not available for use or distribution - it is currently up for review and
discussion. </SPAN></FONT><o:p></o:p></P>
<P class=MsoNormal><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3><SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt"> <o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></P>

style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">3) If you recall, last
year a couple of members had written an article in the forestry source
suggesting a name change for SAF. The primary assertions were that a name
change might broaden others perception of who we are and what we
represent, and likewise, felt that it would also alter the perception
of potential members. This was a topic of discussion at the December
Council meeting, and the discussion will continue.</SPAN></FONT><o:p></o:p></P>

style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt"> <o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></P>
