[Iesaf_panorama] 2009 National Leadership Academy cancelled

Attention IESAF Members,

The 2009 National Leadership Academy to be held in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho
has been officially cancelled.

District 1 Representative, Chuck Lorenz, has confirmed that Council made
the decision February 20th based on a lack of registered participants.
Chuck will be available for comments at the Annual Meeting.

Although this seems an unfortunate development, it could very well be a
tremendous opportunity. An opportunity for Council and the National
Office to rethink leadership development at the National level. And an
opportunity for us to recognize just how important leadership
development and regional interaction is to our State Society(s) and
local Chapters!

Perhaps we have local and regional assets that have gone unrecognized,
opportunities that have gone unnoticed. 

I would like to solicit ideas and input on the possibility of the
development of a regional program... your thoughts?

I'd also like to thank those who had planned on attending the National
Leadership Academy, as well as those that encouraged and supported them.

I look forward to seeing all of you at the Annual Meeting in March,
