[Iesaf_panorama] Nomination and Awards

Dear Inland Empire SAF members,
 
Election time is fast approaching, and we would welcome nominations for officers by October 12.  
You can nominate yourself, or another SAF member with leadership potential for either position.  
If you  nominate someone else, please get their permission and committment to
serve SAF.  The following positions are open:

    1.  IESAF Vice Chair for 2007 
    2.  Executive Councilor 2007-2009
    3.  Chair Elect for each chapter
        
The Vice Chair serves for one year, cooperating with his counterpart in
Montana SAF to organize the joint IE/MT Leadership Conference in January
2008.  The Vice Chair is a voting member of the Executive Committee, who
becomes Chair in 2008.  IESAF intends to continue attendance by both
Chair and Vice Chair to the National Convention and House of Society Delegates
each fall.  Funding for expenses at those meetings has been available to
cover any costs not covered by your employer.  
 
Executive Councillor is a 3 year committment as a voting member of the
Executive Committee.  Councillor's primary duties are to contribute
knowledge and ideas at meetings.  Over the 3 years, you would have
opportunities to introduce new direction, projects and momentum to IESAF
and recommendations to the National Council.  

If you have ideas for improving SAF, this is a great place to start.  

Nominations are also due in January for the following 2006 awards.

    1.  Forester of the Year, awarded to outstanding to forestry by a member of IESAF.  
    2.  Communicator of the Year, awarded for raising public awareness about forestry.  The recipient
         does not have to be a member of SAF.
