TITLE: The Jack O'Connor Hunting Heritage & Education Center: History and Purpose by Kent Henderson<BR>

OVERVIEW: The Jack O'Connor Hunting Heritage & Education Center:<BR>
<BR>
* Serves as a memorial to the legacy of Jack O'Connor, one of the foremost outdoor writers of <BR>
the 20th century, displaying his collection of trophy heads, his writings, guns, and<BR>
related memorabilia.<BR>
<BR>
* Promotes and perpetuates the hunting heritage of America<BR>
<BR>
* Educates the public about the important role hunting plays in modern resource management<BR>
<BR>
* Educates future generations of Americans about safe and ethical hunting <BR>
<BR>
Richard Reid will give a tour of the Center, which will be followed by a presentation on the Center's History and Purpose by Kent Henderson.<BR>

WHERE: The O'Conner Center - Lewiston, ID<BR>

Directions<BR>
<BR>
* In Lewiston, follow the brown and white signs to Hells Gate State Park. The entrance to the<BR>
park is 1.4 miles south of the east end of the Southway Bridge as it crosses the Snake<BR>
River from Clarkston Washington to Lewiston Idaho.<BR>
<BR>
* Turn right (west) on Hells Gate Road into Hells Gate State Park. Go one mile to the Jack<BR>
O'Connor Center Access Road.<BR>
<BR>
* Take the Jack O'Connor Center Access Road (first road to the left past the Tammany Creek<BR>
bridge) to the parking lot at the Jack O'Connor Hunting Heritage and Education Center<BR>
(approximately 300 yards).<BR>
<BR>
* We will be carpooling from Moscow. Please let me know in your RSVP if you wish to carpool.<BR>
