Who knew that my wife would actually notice that my shoes had been polished? I mean the women didn’t even notice that I switched from glasses to contact lenses? Is a shoeshine the new “lipstick on the collar”? (that sounded a lot like something that the Cary Bradshaw character from HBO’s “Sex and the City” would say. Yes, Lee, I watched the series).

Anyway, in an attempt to end the interrogation, I scrambled for my Echo-Sketch (Sanjay – this is the original IPad and Angry Birds) to divert my eyes and suggested a long-overdue date night (translation in my wife’s lexicon: “date night” means an evening with her friends and their husbands). Sounds easy enough except that they plan dinner and a “show” – the off, off, off Broadway production of Jersey Boys. I mean the actors playing Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons weren’t even Italian (one was of middle-eastern descent and another was the tallest, redheaded Irish kid I have ever seen).
