[RPPTL constructionlaw]

Folks - As we discussed at the meeting on Monday, we're proud to announce the formation of a new subcommittee within the CLC. Please see the email below from Richard Harryal and Samantha Encalada who have agreed to chair the subcommittee.


Dear Construction Law Committee Members,

We are excited to announce the creation of a Young Lawyers Subcommittee within the Construction Law Committee. This new subcommittee will be co-chaired by Richard Harrylal and Samantha Encalada.

Membership is open to all Section lawyer members who are under 40 years of age, who have been admitted to practice for ten (10) years or less, or have been practicing in construction law less than 5 years, regardless of age or experience. The subcommittee's goals are to actively engage young lawyers in the substantive work of the Section and its Committees, meaningfully assist young lawyers as they navigate through their first years of practice, and foster long-term professional relationships in the construction community through periodic social events.

We welcome your participation! If you'd like to get involved-whether by suggesting a program or webinar topic, or by becoming active in any other way-please reach out. We intend to release two articles per year on relevant issues in construction and will need willing and able authors.

The subcommittee will meet virtually quarterly, with plans to host young lawyer-focused events at the Section's in-person meetings and, we hope, at the upcoming CLI as well. Our first virtual meeting is planned for November.
