Description: The number of cyber and data security incidents has swelled in recent years and so have the number of reported data breaches. Whether it is the commercial, retail, financial or healthcare sector, no industry is immune. Whether the client be a large national retailer, the local "mom & pop's," or your very own firm, no company - large or small - is safe from the prying programs of data hackers and digital thieves.
Do you know the difference between a cyber and data breach, or the differences between an "incident" and a "reported breach"? Or do you think your average E&O or CGL insurance policies will protect you or your clients? If you don't know the answers to these questions, YOU NEED TO ATTEND the Insurance & Surety Committee's Cyber & Data Risks and Related Insurance Speaker Series this Spring!! Since it is only a matter of when, not if, a data breach will happen to your client or your firm, this Speaker Series will cover the latest trends with breaches that are occurring in several industries; the emerging and developing insurance policies that are recommended and often necessary to protect your clients and your practice from excessive liability of cyber and data breaches; some of the best practices and strategies for preparing for, and responding to, cyber and data breaches; and the ethical duties and responsibilities an attorney has to his clients to protect and advise them of the emerging risks of cyber and data breaches and their resulting liability. Each of these three presentations will provide you with at least 1 Hour CLE Credit, as well as an hour of Ethics credits (upon Bar approval)!!
