Subject: [RPPTL-constructionlaw] 4th Annual Construction Law Institute -- Last Day to Sign Up for Block Rooms

Everyone:

Attached is a copy of the brochure and link to the 4th Annual Construction Law Institute, scheduled for March 31-April 2, 2011. We are just three weeks away from this year's Institute, and it is shaping up to be one of the best. As of today, we have over 250 attendees registered to attend which is a record for three weeks in advance of the seminar. Included in the attendee list are four of the five State Business Court Judges. The Business Court Judges will be attending the sessions since a significant amount of their time is now spent on construction law issues. Today is the last day to sign up for the block rooms at the hotel. There are a few rooms available but after today, there will be a wait list. If you have not signed up please do so and also encourage your colleagues to do so as well.

As we have discussed on the Construction Law Committee's monthly telephone conferences, the theme of this year's Institute is cutting edge issues facing construction practitioners in today's environment. There will be sessions on e-discovery, presentation of evidence in front of the court, jury and arbitration panels, dealing with distressed assets, a lien law update and a case law update to name a few. As in years' past, the Board Certification Review Course will run simultaneously with the Institute, with joint receptions, breakfasts and Friday lunch. Also, the annual golf tournament will be held on Thursday, March 31st - there will be prizes for the top three teams, longest drive, closest to the pin and straightest drive. There will also be survival packs for purchase (limited one per person!), which will include two mulligans, raffle tickets for prices and drink tickets.

The guest speaker for the Friday lunch will be Chief Justice Charles T. Canady, and the Saturday breakfast speaker will be Ken Simonson, Chief Economist for the AGC of America. Ken frequently testifies in front of Congress and has been consulted by the Federal Reserve and other policy makers.

The Institute will be a great time to attend informative seminars and renew old acquaintances with our colleagues in the Construction Bar. Last year we had over 360 total attendees, and expect the same or more this year.

We are excited about another great Institute, and look forward to seeing you there.

Regards,

Cary
