I have asked the webmaster to create a rule to filter a recent Social Media(LinkedIn) request that was sent to all Construction Law Committee Members via the CLC Listserve. He has attempted to do so.
Below is a reminder of listserve etiquette. Before you hit "send" please be considerate of your colleagues' time. As you know some email accounts will freeze if the boxes get too full, so emails you send through the listserve can have a very real impact on a member's ability to serve their clients.
Listserv Etiquette:
*
Signature Tag. Include a signature tag on all messages. Include your name, email address and other relevant information (affiliation, location, telephone, fax). Please delete attached company business cards (such as "vCards") from e-mail.
*
Subject Line. State concisely and clearly the specific topic in the subject line. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to scan or review messages by subject.
*
Headers. Include only the relevant portions of the original message in your reply, delete any header information, and put your response before the original posting.
*
Think Ahead. Only send a message to the entire list when it contains information that everyone can benefit from.
*
Private Messages. Send messages such as “thanks for the information” or “ me, too” to individuals- not to the entire list. Do this by using your e-mail application’s forwarding option and typing in or copying and pasting in the e-mail address of the individual to whom you want to respond. Also, when posting a message, ask for private (or off-list) responses when the information you've requested is not appropriate for or useful to the entire list.
*
Long Messages. Alert other list subscribers of lengthy messages either in the subject line or at the beginning of the message body with a line that says “Long Message.”
