The landlord attributes the issue to the tenant’s prior build-out but has provided no supporting evidence. The client, however, has photographs, videos, and witness statements indicating the condition stems from long-term corrosion in the building’s vent and drainage system that predated the tenancy, including videos in which the landlord’s own plumber identifies cracks and deterioration. Neighboring tenants report similar issues for years.<br><br>In attempting to investigate and mitigate the problem, the client incurred nearly $10,000 in expenses and suffered significant business disruption over several months.
