[CLC-Discussion] Check your Florida Bar Membership Status!

Folks -

I wanted to pass on something I learned yesterday, along with others in our firm, that has apparently affected at least hundreds of Florida Bar members. Apparently, there was some sort of glitch in the renewal process this year that, despite what was actually on it, the renewal form being read as "no answer" for the trust account question or pro bono question, or both, which then resulted, as of sometime this week, in people being somehow flagged as ineligible to practice law. This would then  prevent electronic filings in the state court system. This happened to multiple attorneys in our firm and when we checked with the Bar, it's apparently a massive problem.

So, if you're not already aware of this you might want to go to the Bar website and check your membership status. If you're affected by this glitch, I've attached the form you need to fill out. Send it to membershiprecords at floridabar.org<mailto:membershiprecords at floridabar.org>. Apparently there are only two people working on this issue right now, but they told us that if you need to file something, call them after you email the form and they can give it more immediate attention. They'll need to know what time you emailed the form in to find it.
